The New Year often prompts people to make resolutions. But more often than not, these end up being abandoned. A study has shown that around 80 percent of these resolutions fail after six weeks. Medium-term goals are about personal standards. This involves completing a task because of consistently satisfying the requirement of the short-term goals. 
Once the medium-term goals are achieved, then the long-term objectives can be focused on. Long-term goals or the dream goals.

By linking these short, medium, and long-term objectives, then they will make the seemingly complicated large goals into more manageable and easier goals to achieve. 

Overall, goals must be specific. It cannot be too vague. Another is that it should be measurable. For difficult tasks, make sure that goals are realistic and associated with a reasonable time frame. By having clearly defined deadlines, then goals Furthermore, one must have a clearly defined timeline attached to goals.
